UHC Campaign On Eat Healthily During Festive Season

During the festive season, food will be one of the hottest topics amongst Malaysians. Many of us think that the festive season is a 'special pass' to enjoy sumptuous meals, after a month of fasting. These include those with metabolic related health problems such as diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.

Here are safe eating habits during the festive seasons proposed by the Ministry of Health:

  1. Eat in small portion of dishes.
  2. Choose food with low calories such as fruits, food with less oil and fat.
  3. Choose high fibre food to prevent constipation.
  4. Limit intake of sweet and fatty food like dodol, Raya cookies and rendang.
  5. Choose fresh fruits as snack or dessert.
  6. Limit intake of food with high salt content.
  7. Drink more water.
