Infectious Disease Control And Food Premises Monitoring Unit

As it is named, this unit is responsible for preventing and controlling any acute infectious disease within UPM, mainly Dengue Fever, Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), Influenza-like Illness and Food-borne disease or illness. Apart from that, it also held the task of monitoring the hygienic and safety aspect of all the food premises operating in the campus compound.

This small unit which staffed by a PENOLONG PEGAWAI KESIHATAN PERSEKITARAN (Assistant Environmental Health Officer) and a PEMBANTU OPERASI (Operating Assistant) carried out routine preventive activities such as :

  • Search and destroy activities for Aedes mosquito breeding area
  • Fogging arrangement  for mosquito control before big events in the campus
  • Children care center inspections
  • Food premises inspections

The aim of this unit is to minimize the risks of infectious Disease and Food-Borne disease among UPM staff and students
